25 <br /> public hearing on the sub,7ect on January 12, 1976, and called <br /> attention to the memorandum from the Planning Director to the <br /> City Manager of January 16, 1976 entitled "Response to the Com- <br /> munication of Mobil Oil Estates (Redwood) Limited on the Proposed <br /> General Plan." <br /> MOTION Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, , <br /> to incorporate into the proposed Comprehensive General Plan, dated <br /> September 30, 1975, the five recommendations contained in the <br /> memorandum of January 9, 1976 from the Director of Planning to the <br /> City Manager entitled "Responses to Testimony at the Public Hearing <br /> on the Proposed General Plan" and the four recommendations con- <br /> tained in the memorandum of January 16, 1976 from the Director <br /> of Planning to the City Manager entitled "Response to the Commu m- <br /> cation of Mobil Oil Estates (Redwood) Limited on the Proposed <br /> General Plan." <br /> (Recommendations, 1/9/76 <br /> 1 One page C-5, add the following two proposals at the <br /> end of Section 5 "p The City should modify the <br /> appropriate local codes to enhance energy conservation <br /> in both new and old housing," and "q The City should <br /> explore planning and regulatory techniques which aid in <br /> reducing reliance on high energy consuming activities " <br /> ' 2 Change the third principle under the Open Space Goals <br /> on page E-14 to read "The City should preserve the <br /> open space character of Bair Island by limiting its <br /> ' use to recreation and low-intensity development.° � <br /> 3 Under "City-wide Open Space" on page D-5 the name and <br /> the acres after "cc " should read "cc Um on Cemetery <br /> 6 5", and after "dd " it should read "dd Easter Bowl 9 0" <br /> 4 Change the desi9nation of the former Santa Clara School <br /> site from "Publicly-Owned Open Space" to "Privately- <br /> Owned Open Space" and change the maps accordingly <br /> i <br /> � 5 On page 10, Section E, first paragraph, fourth sentence-- <br /> ' change the words " foreign and domestic " to <br /> , " exotic and indigenous.
