433 Administration of Oath of Office to Police Reserve Officer Candidates Upon invitation of Mayor Leipzig, Police Chief Bold introduced the following Police Reserve Officer Candidates John K. Delaney, ' frederick M.'Fabian, Peter H Griffith, Martin W. Gomez, Paul D. Jensen, James G. Lessing, Richard L. Nieto, Gary A Parsons, Patr�cia L. Prichard, Ronald J. Smith, Gary L. Simonini. City Clerk Hildebrand administered the oath of office to the Candidates. � Police Chief Bold described the course for police reserve officers, ' noting that some of the new officers have completed training more advanced than that required, that the diverse backgrounds of inembers of the group are also valuable to the Police Department; and called attention to the thousands of hours of volunteer duty contributed annually by the police reserve officers in the City. Chief Bold also commented on the types of duties assigned to police reserve officers, and commended Lt. John Heavy who works with them. Mayor Le�pzig thanked the new Police Reserve Officers for their willingness to serve the City, stating the Council is proud to have a group with such impressive backgrounds as volunteers to assist the Police Department. Request of Retired City Employees Councilman Bury referred to the last paragraph on page 3 of the � Minutes of the Budget Stuc�y Sess�on of J�ne 5, 1976 wherein it is � stated that he agreed to contact`Senator 6regorio regarding amend- ment to Assembly Bill 2930 relating to improved benefits for PERS ret�rees. Councilman Bury advised that he has discussed the matter with City Attorney Schricker who learned that there had already been response in the Legisiature to the concern of Council so there was no need to contact Senator Gregorio on the matter. Introduction of Assistant City Controller At the request of Mayor Leipzig, City Controller Ference introduced Act�ng Assistant City Controller Gregory Clark and Mrs. Clark.
