3�0 time of annexation of areas containing substandard streets, the residents are advtsed that if the streets are to be maintained by the City, then the residents must pay for improvement of their own streets �ust as all other residents of the City have done, and that the City wtll then accept the standard streets and maintain them. If the residents choose not to improve their streets, then the City has no responsibility to maintain them. , Director of Public Works Pusich advised that a tentative parcel map for a four-iot subdivision has been approved for the end of Toyon Way, and that the developer can do the street work as part of the subdivision and include the work in the cost of the houses, or an assessment district can be created to construct the standard street improvements, but that the vacation is required now in order to permit the work to go ahead at a later date. Discussion followed and Mr Fales, Mr. Pusich and Mr �`indal commented and replied to questions concerning the City's policy with regard to acceptance of substandard streets in annexed lands. �4ayor Weymouth asked if anyone else present wished to speak.
