City Manager I�ead advised that <br /> ' he had submitied sn outline of the service trainin� program to both the <br /> fire and police departmente and that all fireman had signified an inten- <br /> tion to take the cour.se and most of tne policemen had expressed a willing- <br /> ness to do so. He atated that in the final budget he would recommend <br /> ' aufficient mohey to cover the cost of the t rainin6 coursea. .Councilman <br /> aranger �ras of the opinion that participants in a promotional examination <br /> • ahould be given credit fortakin�r the course, while Councilman Armstrong <br /> believed that any person takin6 auch a course would have an advantage <br /> over those not cloing so. <br /> Councilma.n Granger asked the City Attorney if he had heard anything further <br /> from Senator Parkman in re�;ard to an allotment for Union Cemetery. The <br /> ' motion was seconded by Councilman Granger and passeduunanimously. <br /> Mayor Hilton asked if ar�y proviaion had been made in the salary ordinance for <br /> men on military leeve. City Ddanager r.ieaa advised that these men were <br /> only being replaced durin� their leaves of abaence. <br /> Pdayor Hilton asked the atatua of the Koemple case. City Attoriley McCarthy <br /> ' advised tnat he was waitin� for the opposir� attorney to ans�ver his <br /> requeat to have the trial moved to this city. <br /> Councilman Armstron�, moved thelproposed ordinance setting up a recreetion� <br /> commiasion be placed on the a�enda for the next meeting.
