S9, W, HILTON Mayor of the C31ty of Redwood City In regard to Poplar Avenue Subdivision, Acting City Engineer Randlett advised that the-subdivider, Mr. Hogg, had made arrangements with tne Planning Commiseion 1 which were approved by the Council to Yile a map, install eewera and etreet work and be given building permite as he desired to build on this street. There wae a misunderstanding about filing the final map, however, the Coun- cil had approved the iesuance of building permite, There is eome ligiga- ' tion in regard to thia subdivieion and the building has atopped. The street ceork has not been done but there ie �2500 poeted for thia work, Couneilman Britschgi was of the opinion that inasmuch ae the money was deposited for the etreet work tne eubdivider ehould be forced to put in the etreet. Coun- cilman Granger believed it would be in order to refer the matter to the � aity Attorney to consult with Attorney 0'Keefe, who is the attorney 4a�the people ir�tituting the•suit against the subdivlder. It wae City Manager Blom�e opinion that �2500 mlght not cover the coet of the etreet avork. Oouncilman Britechgi moved, seconded by Oounoilman Fletoher, that the City Manager be instructed to ieview the matter to see what can be done to etart laying the street and sewers in tnis district and the Cfity Attorney be in- etructed to contact the attorney for the people in the diatriat who are instituting tne euit againet the subdivfder„ Motion passed unanimously. _ , 01ty Clerk Dodge asked if the Oouncll wished to send description of propoaed Charter amendmenter;with the sample ballots for the coming election. It was the general conaenaus.that thie sY�ould be done. It was also decided that material e�rnitted.againet the amendments ehould also be mailed with the sample ballots, Councilman Armstrong raoved, seconded by Councilman Granger, that a pamphlet describing the Charter amendments to be aubmit- ted to Lhe�..eotera at the April election be sent out with eample ba.I.lots • and also any pamphlet ags.ina� euch amendmente. Motion passed unanimouslp. Counoilraan Granger offered resolution of preliminary intention conering improve- ments at Jefferson, Qua,rtz, Vera and Taft 9treete,.seconded by Councilmars Britschgi. On roll:oall, resolution was unanimouslq adopted. City Attorney McCarthq adked if the Council wiahed indlvidual notices sent to property ' owners in regard to the above improvements. Councilman Britachgi moved, seconded by Councilman Anderaon, that the property ownere be notified by poet card notices. Motion passed unanimously, R 3 0 L U T I 0 N No. 289 ' RESOI;UTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION TO MAKE PIIBLIC I�dPROVEMENTB. RESOLYED by the,Council of the City of Redwood City, California, that it does hereby preliminarily determine that public convenience and neceseity require, and that it intends to order the Yollowing work to be done and im- provements to be made in and Por said City,:to-wit: 1.
