<br /> - dity limits. City Manager Blom replied that the Acting City Engineer was

<br /> 1 been unable to locate a nome within tne city limite. Mayor Hilton aeked
<br /> what effect the new position of Oity Engineer would have on Mr. Ra.ndlett:
<br /> City Manager Blom adnised that he would be eligible to take the examination
<br /> and tha.t if he is not eucceasful in getting the appointment, he would be
<br /> 1 eligible for the poeition oY Engineering Assistant. Tnere was conaiderable
<br /> diecuseion in regard to the amount of experience required for the City
<br /> - Engineer, some of tne Council being of tue opinion that more experience
<br /> sriould be required than is set fortn in the_apecificatione; i,e., five
<br /> years, three years of which snould be in a supervisory capacity and two in
<br /> municipal work, After more diseuesion, it wae decided to let the ezperience
<br /> • requirement remain as eet up to allow for more applications,
<br /> Councilman McNulty questioned an article wnich had appeared in the Redwood City
<br /> . Tribune in regard to control of electroliere on the highway, City Manager �
<br /> Blom reported tnat the city had completed ite.share of the lighting and
<br /> had written to the county regarding ttie lighting of their portion of the
<br /> n 4 highway, The Board of 3upervisors riad referred tne matter to the County
<br /> Engine.er and it was believed that tne county would complete this work. He
<br /> ' aiated tnat the county nad no control over the city electroliers and that
<br /> it would pay and install tne electroliere on their portion of the highway.
