There was some discussion as to v+hether this business came 1 <br /> . under the head of business or industry but it was pointed out that there <br /> are several auch plants in the pusinesa dietrict, Councilman Britschgi <br /> moved, aeconded by Councilman Granger, that the permit be granted, <br /> Motion paased unanimously, ' <br /> Application was received from Lawrence E. Jantz for a dance permit at 2015 E1 <br /> Camino Real, Dancing will be confined to a room separate from the cock- <br /> tail lounge and dining room. Councilman Granger advieed that he had in- <br /> spected the premises upon a requeat to do eo, and etated that the room to <br /> be uaed for dancing was Yormerly a storeroom. Inasmuch as none of the <br /> other councilmen had inspected the premises, Councilman Anderson moved, • <br /> seconded by Oouncilman McNulty, that tne matter be held over to the next <br /> n� meeting to allow time for the councilmen to inepect thie place of business. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Application was received from Court Madrone, No. 158, F. of A., for permission <br /> to conduct benefit dances Saturdaye, April 6th and 13th, Oouncilman <br /> Anderson moved, seconded "by Councilman McNulty, that tne permit be granted. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. ' <br /> Communication was received from the Democratic County Oentral Oommittee oY San <br /> Mateo County signed by Rene Cazenave, chairman, and Frank M. Olsen, eeore- <br /> tary, urging a county-wide registration aueek during the month of April and <br /> asking that the city adopt a resolution in aupport of this action. Coun- <br /> cilman Granger offered resolution and moved its adoption setting aeide the <br /> week of April 15, 1946, for a city-wide regietration, seconded by Council- <br /> man Andereon. On roll call, resolution was unanimouely adopted with • <br /> Counciiman Fleicher abaent, <br /> R E S 0 L U T.I 0 N No, 298 <br /> RE90LUTION PROCLAIMING REGISTRATION WEEK. <br /> YPHEREAS, there has been a great influx of new residents into Califor- ' <br /> nis during the years of the war and eince tne termination of hostilities <br /> in Europe and in the Orient, and many veterane have Come to majority dur- <br /> ing and since their military aernice, and it is deairable to have as large <br /> a registration of voters as possible so that there may be a higher percent- <br /> age of electore qualified to vote at all electiona hereafter to be held in <br /> California; � <br /> RESOLV'ED, that thie City Council of the City of Redwood City does <br /> hereby urge all persons eligible to vote in San Mateo County and elsewhere ' <br /> in Calffornia to register at as early a date as poseible and for the en- <br /> couragement of registration of voters hereby proclaima tne week beginning <br /> April 15th, 1946 ae registration week, <br /> The above and foregoing Resolution was paesed and adopted by the <br /> Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meetin thereof neld on <br /> the lst day oY April, 1946, by the follo�ring vote: <br /> AY�3, and in fanor of the paesage and adoption of the �oregoing Reso- <br /> lution: Councilmen: ANDERSON, ARS�STRONG, BRIT3CHGI, GRANGER, MciVULTY and <br /> HILTON. . � <br /> � <br />
