City Manager Blom advised that it be advantageous � <br /> in some respects to eliminate per diem employees from the system eo that � <br /> � <br /> it would be possible to employ them for longer than 90 days; It wae de- �� <br /> cided after further discussion to allow the Board of Review time for <br /> etudy of the amendment. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Council- ' <br /> man Britscngi, that the matter be held over until the nezt meeting to <br /> allow tne Board of Revi,ew time to study the proposed amendments. Motion � <br /> passed unanimously, <br /> City Manager Blom advised that the Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement with ' <br /> the State Highway Division in regard to tne e�cpenditure of the 1/4¢ gas <br /> tax on atate hignwaya nad been amended to provide for the addition of the <br /> drainage project at the corner of James and �1 Camino Real. Fifty per <br /> cent of the cost of this project is to be paid out of the•State's portion <br /> of tne 1/4¢ gas tax fund and fifty per cent will be paid out of the Oity's <br /> share. Trie estimated oost of the project ie �3100. The Council nad • <br /> asked tne City Manager to atte�pt to get tne State to participate in a <br /> larger measure but that he had had no succese. Colonel Skeggs advised <br /> him that the 3tate had a rule whereby if the State participated at all it <br /> participated to the extent of fifty per cent. Counoilman Fletcher offered <br /> resolution approving memorandum of agreement for tne expenditure oP the <br /> �:; 1/4¢ gas tax fund, on State Highways. The motion was seconded by Council- <br /> man Britschgi. On roll call, resolution was unanimously adopted with ' <br /> Councilman Andereon absent, <br /> RE80LUT ION No. 394 <br /> RE$OLUTION OF THE QITY GOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING <br /> FIRST SUPPLEMENTAL MEMORANDL�rI OF AGREEbSENT FOR EXPENDIT(JRE OF 1/4 <br /> .,...:'" CENT GAS TAX ALLOCATED FOR STATE HIGHINAYB <br /> WHEREAB, the 3tate of California, through its Department of Public <br /> Works, Divieion of Highways, has presented a firet supplemental memoran- <br /> dum of agreement in accordance with a project statement aubmitted by the <br /> City for expenditure of tne 1/4 cent gas tax for the 1945-47 bienniiun <br /> allocated for State highways in the City of Redwood City; and � <br /> WHEREAS, the city council hae neard read said agreement in full and <br /> is familiar with tne contents thereof; <br /> THEREFORE, be it.reeolved by the city council of the City of Redwood <br /> City, that said agreement for expenditure of tne 1/4 cent gae tax alloca- <br /> ted for State Highways be and the same is hereby approved and the City <br /> Manager and tne City Clerk are directed to eign the same on behalf of <br /> said City.
