Hritschgi, Floyd D. Granger, George W. MeNulty, Arthur V, Swift, PJilliam M. 1� 1Yerder, �ayor 45`, 9P. Hilton and City Clerk R. S, , Dodge. Also present were: City Manager E. t�, Blom, City Attorney Paul A. McCarthy, Building Inapector L. M. Duncan, City Collector N. L. Miramontes, Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Lodi, Police Lieutenant�Stanley 49ood, Superintendent of Streets H. L. ti'�inter and Acting City Engineer Charles E. Randlett. • Councilma.n Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman PdcNulty, that the minures of _ the re�ular meeting of April 15, and the adjouned meeting of April 16, be approved as mailefl. ��otion passed unanimously. Application was received from Court Madrone No. 158, F. of A., for dance permit for Saturdays May 11 and 18, Councilman Britsch�i moved that in the Yuture all dance permits frorn the F. of A. be referred to the City Manager vrho in turn would refer them to the proper authorities to determine~thati:.the per- ' � mite comply v�ith all city ordinances. Councilman Armstrong suggested an amendment to the motion. Councilman Britsch�i withdrew his motion and Councilman Armstrong moved that this Council delegate this responsibility granted it by ordinance to the City �anager to grant permits under the same terms and conditions as they have been granted in the past. Councilman Britschgi seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Communication was received from the United Veterans Day Committee re- questing the Council, or a representative of the Council, be present at the • Memorial Day program. Councilma:rr•Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, that the b4ayor attend if possible and, if impossible, to delegate a member of the Council to renresent the city. Motion passed unanimously. Request was received from the '�omen's Guild of the First Congregational Church to hold a rwnmage sale rday 24, and 25 in the church parlors. Councilman ' Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the Council dele- gate its a.uthority to the City t�anager to grant this permit and others of a eimilar nature if he finde them in order. �Iotion passed unanimously. Communication was received from the Peninsula Division of the League of Calif- ' ornla Cities adviaing of the bi-monthy meeting to be held�at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel in San b4ateo on Thursday, b?ay 16, 1946. Those planning to attend signified their intention of doing so. Communication �vas received.from City &fanager E. �l. Hlom advising that the terme of A3rs.
