On roll <br /> call,. ordinance wae unanimously�adopted. . ' <br /> City Manager Blom reported on the cons3dered acquisition of additiona.l property <br /> for the recreational area. He advised that the Planning Engineer, Mr. Mott, <br /> did not believe it was essentiel to provide an entrance at Valota Road and <br /> Roosevelt Avenue but did believe on ehould be provided somewhere along <br /> Valota Road. He believed that a narrow entrance from Valota Road would be <br /> sufficient but did believe that some portion of the Park a�suld-k�e-aeea-�acm � <br /> should be aeen from Valota Road. It wae hie recommendation that the citp <br /> acquire four vacant lots and with proper spacing a niew of the park could <br /> be had along Valota Road. Councilman Werder expreesed the opinion that � <br /> four lota would be too much to acqulre for the purpose of a niew and sug- . <br /> gested tkat two lots be purchased. City Manager Hlom also advised that it <br /> would,be necessary to acquire four lote at the corner of Vera Avenue and <br /> Valota in connection with the reconatruction of the intersection. It is ' <br /> proposed to abandon Vera Avenue in this reconstruction. After the four <br /> lots are acquired, Vera Avenue vrould be vacated and the lots would be made <br /> into three fifty foot lote Facing on Valo'ta Road. Councilman Armstrong <br /> offered resolution authorizing the proper administrative officiala to take <br /> the neceseary steps to institute condemnation proceedinga to acqulre two <br /> lots fronting on Valota Road and four lots on the corner of Valota Road <br /> and Vera Avenue. Tbe motion wae seconded by Councilman McNulty and on � <br /> roll call, reeolution was unanimously adopted, <br /> RE80LUT ION No. 354 <br /> AUTHORIZING QOP1DIIdNATION OF ADDITIONAL LANDS IN FEE FOR MiRdICIPAL <br /> COMMUNITY CENTER AND RECREATIONAL PARK. <br /> RESOLVED, by the Council of the CSty of Redwood City, that it finde ' <br /> and determinee and hereby declares: That public intereat and necessity <br /> require the acquisition of the real property hereinaYter described as a <br /> part of a municipal community center and recreational park; <br /> That all of the declarations and determinations of thia City Council <br /> and its resolution with respect to the acquistion of lands as set forth in <br /> ita Resolution No. 210 authorizing condemnation of lands in fee for muni- <br /> cipal aommunity center and recreational park be and they are hereby in- ' <br /> corporated herein by reference; <br /> FURTHER RESOLVED: That an amendment to the complaint filed in the <br /> Superior Court of the State of Oalifornia, in and £or the County of San <br /> Mateo entitled "CITY OF REDWCOD CZTY, a municipal corporation, P1alntiYf, <br /> vs. HOMER L.
