Councilman <br /> Armetrong moved acceptance.of agreement as drafted for iraproqements in <br /> McCullagh Park and autho.rizing the City Manager to eign the agreement on <br /> 1 behalf of the city, seCOnded'.�by Councilman McNulty. Motion passed unani- <br /> mously. <br /> City Attorney McCarthy advised that there are about fifty lote in the recreation- <br /> ` • al area which can be acquireci by the city from the state through the Board <br /> of Supervisors. He believed it would be possible to obtain them for about <br /> ' �20 apiece and asked to be authorized to offer that much. Councilman <br /> Armstrong moved, aeconded by Councilman Plerder, that the City Attorney be <br /> authorized to attend the,meeting of the Board of Supervisors and enter into <br /> an agreement to negotiate for certain lote in the recreational area. Motion <br /> p.assed unanimously. � <br /> Councilman Granger asked that eome consideration be given to controlling the <br /> • height of. hedges on corners in the future so as not to be able to cause <br /> blind corners. Councilman P�erder advised that the City of Palo Alto had an <br /> -� ordinance which controlled the height of hedges and also empowered them to <br /> regulate the height of hedges already in existence. He asked that the City <br /> Attorney obtain a copy of this ordinance. <br /> Councilman Granger asked if the taxi standa are to be properly marked on the <br /> 1 pavement, Chief Collins advised that the'marking is to be made on the <br /> curb and aigns erected. All stands have been properly marked. <br /> Councilman Granger asked the status of the condemnation proceedings on the lots <br /> on Broadway opposite Wharf Street. City Attorney MeCarthy advised that the <br /> auit would be filed promptly, <br /> Councilman Granger asked the status of the proceedings on Jaa;es and CaliPornia <br /> in regard to acquiring right of way for change in setback lines. City Man- <br /> ager Blom advised this matter had been referred to the Planning Commiesion <br /> • and no report had been had from them as yet. City Attorney �cCarthy ad- <br /> vised that he beliened a recommendation would be presented to the Council <br /> at the next meeting, <br /> aouncilman Granger announced that for.the 4th of July parade, the reviewing� <br /> etand would be at the corner of JefPerson and Hroadway and all councilmen <br /> , are entitled to a seat. <br /> Councilman Granger asked the status of the Martin Bus Traneportation matter. <br /> City Manager Blom advised he had a communication from Attorney �'�ayne <br /> Millington in longhand outlining proposed bue route, but that it had been <br /> , difficult to get it into map form. The information ia not complete but it <br /> indicatea that they do not intend to comply completely with the agreement <br /> made with the Council. It_,appears that they are accepting the conceseions <br /> made by the Council but not giving up anyth3ng the Council asked for with <br /> the exception of reducing the number of bueses etopping at the 3he11 <br /> Station. Councilman Rritschgi moved that the City Ma.nager be inetructed to <br /> � notify the Martin Transportatien Company that after Sunday, July 6th, no <br /> \ <br />
