City Engineer 'Nilson recommended tnat ti:e extension be , <br /> gianted for a period of thirty days on tue contract time, which would extend <br /> it to Auguet 3id. At tue suggestion of Gity Manager Blom it was thought ;� . <br /> best to extend tne time until Auguat 5, trie date of the next Council meeting � <br /> Councilman Granger moved, eeconded by Councilman Swift, that the request of <br /> Mr, Sorensen for addttional time on tne E1 Camino Rea1 and Jamea Avenue <br /> draina.ge contract be granted, the date for completion of trie contract being <br /> set for August 5. Motion paseed unanimously. <br /> City Manager Blom reported tliat wt�en the taxicab ordinance was passed, ne be- <br /> lieved one provision was not given eufficient thougnt and that was trie pro- <br /> vision providing tnat drivere must nave lived fn tne city for tnirty daye ' <br /> before oeing granted a permit. He eaid eeveral of tne cao companies nad <br /> drivers working for tnem who do not reside in the city limits and ne did not <br /> believe �t was tne intent of the ordinance to demand tiiat tney do so. He <br /> recommended tnat tne thirty day provision be eliminated from tne ordinance <br /> inasmucn as tnere were several otner provisions wnicn would eliminate un- <br /> desirable employees. Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Werder, introtiuction of amendment to the taxicab ordinance eliminating the � <br /> thirty day residence witnin tne city before drivers can oe issued a permit. <br /> Motion passed unanimously, <br /> Ciiy Manager Blom presented a sketch in regard to the application for a permit <br /> to erect a stable by Dale Cdeaver. The sketch showed tne distance tne etable <br /> would be erected from six occupied nouses. He stated tnat the permit could ' <br /> � be granted witnin tne forty foot limitation. Oity Engineei i411eon stated <br /> tnat the stable would conform to all restrictions as far as ti�e erection of <br /> it ia concerned. Councilman titierder moved, seconded bq Councilman Britschgi, <br /> tnat the permit be granted to Dale b7eaver to erect a stable. Motion passed <br /> unanimously, _ , <br /> Tne final map of tne Eaion Avenue 'Villas was .presented. When the tentative map <br /> was presented 1t did not provide for sidewalks a.nd tne Council nad requeated <br /> they be included. City Manager Blom suggested taat inaemuch as tne lote in <br /> ti�is dist rict were probably to remain in acre lots tnat eidewalks might not <br /> be necessary.,but ne.'did believe gutiers and curbe snould be put,..in.
