On roll call Councilmen Swift and Britschgi absent. <br /> • R E 8.0 L U T I 0 N No. 375. <br /> RESOLUTION FINALLY VACATING UNUSED PORTION OF i�IDDLEFIELD ROAD <br /> (Formerly 'Nebster Street.) <br /> �VHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City, on July 15th, Z946 <br /> passed and adopted Resolution No. 363A declaring its intention to vacate that <br /> certain portion of Middlefield Road (formerly �lebeter Street) extending from <br /> the northwesterly line of Jefferson Avenue to a point where said street cross- � <br /> es a brancfi of the Redwood Creek; and <br /> l�HFREA3, said Resolution No. 363A gave notice of the intention of�this <br /> City Council to vacate said unused portion of Middlefield Road therein partic- <br /> ' ularly described, and said Resolution fixed the date August 5, 1°46 as the <br /> date of hearing in the City Hall at the hour of eight o'clock p.m, on said <br /> intention to vacate said portion of Middlefield Road and gave notice therein <br /> of the date, time and place fixed for said hearing; and <br /> 'aYHEREAS, copies of said Resolution No. 363A giving notice of said hear- <br /> ing on said objection were posted by the Superintendent of Streets of the <br /> City of Redwood City conspicuously along said street in at least three places <br /> and at least ten days before the date therein fixed for hearing, and said <br /> Resolution No. 363A was published two Times in the Redwood City Tribune, a <br /> daily (except Sunday) ne�rspaper, published, printed and circulated in the <br /> City of Redwood City, all as required by law; and <br /> 4'JHEREA3, NO protest or objection to the closing of said etreet was made <br /> at said hearing: <br /> � NOPl, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, tha.t the City Counci7. of said City does <br /> hereby declare that the real property hereinaYter described is vacated and <br /> abandoned as a, public street. <br /> Said property is situated in the City of Redwood City County of 3an <br /> Mateo, being a portion of 4Yebster 8treet a,s shown on that certain map entitled <br /> "Map of the Property in Villa Lots of J. Diller, eituated in Redwood City", <br /> filed September 18, 1863 in Book "E" of Maps at page 77, Official Records of <br /> San Mateo County, California, and more particularly deacribed as follows: <br /> , BEGINNING at tiie most easterly corner of Block 3 as shown on the <br /> aforesaid map, thence northeasterly on the prolongation of the north- <br /> westerly line of Jefferson Street as shown on said map to a point dis- <br /> tant 60 feet, measured at right angles, from the northeasterly line of <br /> Middle'field Road (formerly Webster Street) as established on I�arch 1925 <br /> by C. L. Dimmitt, Civil Engineer, in a survey of the property of the <br /> Episcopal'Church, which survey is on file in the office of the City <br /> ' Engineer, Redwood City, California; thence northwesterly along a line <br /> parallel to and distant 60 feet from said northeasterly line of <br /> I�iddlefield Road to a point on the prolongation of the northwesterly <br /> line of said Block 3; thence southwesterly on the prolongation of <br /> sa.id northweaterly line to the most northerly corner of sa,id Block 3; <br /> thence southeasterly along the northeasterly line of said Block 3 to <br /> the point of beginning. <br /> The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City <br /> Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on the <br /> 5th day of August, 1946, by the following vote: <br /> � AYES; Councilmen: ARr,?STRONG, GRANGER, McNULTY, V9ERDER and HILTON.
