W, HILTON ' <br /> Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br /> To permit the Engineers to complete the reassessment, adoption of Resolution <br /> Setting Date for Hea.ring Protests on Supplemental Assessment was deferred <br /> to August 19, 1946. <br /> VERA AVENUE RIGHT OF P�AY AND EASE,.iEVT9, Purchase� of: City Manager B1oM reported <br /> progresa in obtaining righta of way and easements to extend and widen Vera <br /> 1 <br /> Avenue an additional thirty feet, making it a 60 foot street. He requested <br /> � <br /> to be authorized by the Council to accept rights:of way and easements from � <br /> James Corbett and H arold L. Hucke, owners of property at Quartz Street and <br /> Vera. Avenue in return for rechanneling the creek through their property. � <br /> City Engineer VJilson presented a diagram indicating� the present ch�nnel of <br /> the creek and property lines. He estimated that the cost of moving the creek <br /> would offset the cost of acauiring rights of way and easements. On motion �', <br /> �of Councilman �cNulty, seconded by Councilman Swift, the City t,4anager was <br /> authorized to enter into an agreement with James Corbett and Harold L. <br /> Hucke to rechannel the creek in excha.nge for rights of way and easemente nec- <br /> essary to open Vera Avenue. <br /> PURCHASE OF YJATER METERS: City bianager Blom requested authorization to purchase ' <br /> �7,500 worth of water meters for the City. He stated that since the <br /> Pittsburgh meter is standard for the City, there could only be one biddeT <br /> if the contract was advertised; that if the City buys 500 instead of 200 <br /> meters at a time, a greater discount will be availa.ble, supply will be <br /> guaranteed, and delivery assured, On motion of Councilman FJerder, seconded � <br /> . <br /> � <br />
