City Engineer �Pilson reported tha.t <br /> � the cost of sidewalks and gutters, renioval of trees, and laying of 5° <br /> crusher run base and 1/2" armor coat would coet approximately �10.071. <br /> Councilman Granger suggested that bond funds allocated to the improvement <br /> of California 3quare could be utilized. Mott and <br /> presented by Councilman Granger. <br /> BROAD�t'AY TO �4IDDLEFIELD ROAD, Acquisition of area Parallel to Main 8treet: <br /> City Attorney McCarthy informed the Council that suit had been filed to <br /> • condemn property for a new street between Middlefield Road and Broadway, <br /> parallel to Main Street. City Manager Blom suggeeted that a petition <br /> might be circulated among the property ovaners of this area for the forma- <br /> tion of a parking district. Mr. Blom then presented a plan to reserve a <br /> ' portion of this area for parking and which would allow the flow of traffic <br /> and prohibit frontage to buildings on this street. On motion of Council- <br /> man 4Yerder, aeconded by Councilman Swift,.City Manager Blom wa.s authorized <br /> to.have plans prepared indicating the use of the area between Middlefield <br /> Road and Broadway as a parking area, available for rear delivery to Main <br /> ' Street and Jeffereon Avenue property, and permit the flow of traffic, and <br /> that these plans be presented with a petition to the property owners for <br /> the acquisition of the property. <br /> REDV100D CAB COMPANY, Request for Call Box: City Manager Blom read the request <br /> of the Redwood Cab Company for permission to install a c�,ll box on the <br /> southerly side of BrewsterrAvenue between the railroad tracks and Perry <br /> � Street.
