0 R ! G I It A L 8/14/00
ORDINANCE NO. 2198 (1130-306) 1130-306

INTERIM URGENCY ORDINANCE PROHIBITING OFFICE
DEVELOPMENT ON PARCELS OF PROPERTY ONE ACRE OR
LARGER WITHIN THE "CC" (GENERAL COMMERCIAL), "CC-
R" (GENERAL COMMERCIAL-RESIDENTIAL COMBINING),
"CB" (CENTRAL BUSINESS), AND "CN" (NEIGHBORHOOD
COMMERCIAL) ZONING DISTRICTS IN THE CITY OF
REDWOOD CITY

The Council of Redwood City does ordain as follows:

Section 1. Findings. This Council hereby finds and declares as follows:
A. The market demand for office development in the City of Redwood
City has increased far beyond that anticipated when current land use
designations were established under Ordinance No. 1130, as amended, the
Redwood Zoning Ordinance ("Zon. Ord.");

B. Large scale office developments have been, and are being, proposed

for developed and undeveloped properties which, as individual parcels, or
combined parcels, are one acre or larger in area, particularly within the "CC"
(General Commercial-Residential Combining), "CB" (Central Business), and "CN"
(Neighborhood Commercial) Zoning Districts (collectively, the "Affected
Districts");

C. Such relatively large-scale office development proposals, if allowed to
proceed to construction, would create structures disproportionate to, and in
conflict with the appearance of, existing structures adjacent to or in the vicinity
thereof in the Affected Districts;

O~d-~4 1
F:/s hared/redwood/cou ncil
DES:rg
07/18/00
7/24/00RR
