GVWR Regenerative Air Sweeper are <br />5 divided into three complete - sections. The first section outlines the overall specification <br />6 requirement. The second details the chassis portion of the truck. The third section refers mostly <br />7 to the regenerative air sweeper that is to be mounted onto the truck chassis. The truck shall be <br />8 delivered complete with all equipment and accessories necessary for safe and efficient operation, <br />9 ready for immediate job site operation within the City of San Francisco. Tho machine shall comply <br />'10 with the manufacturer's current model truck and sweeper, with additions and deletions. as <br />11 contained herein. The unit provided shall be new, of current manufacture and the model shall <br />12 have been in production a minimum of five (5) years. Bidder should provide a list of '10 cities <br />'13 currently using the model as bid. <br />14 <br />15 MANUFACTURING, MA T ERIA1, AND DESIGN PRACTICES: <br />16 It is intended that the manufacturer, in the selection of components will use material and design <br />17 practices that are the best available in the industry for the type of operating conditions to which the <br />18 unit will be subjected. Engine, suspension, wheels, tires and other component parts shall be <br />19 selected to address the performance requirements of this specification. All parts, equipment and <br />20 accessories shall conform in strength, quality of material and workmanship to recognized industry <br />21 standards. <br />22 <br />23 HEAVY DUTY TERMINOLOGY DEFINED: <br />24 The term "heavy duty" as used in these specifications shall mean that the item to which the term is <br />25 applied shall exceed time usual quantity, quality or capacity supplied with standard production. <br />26 unit(s) and it shall be able to withstand unusual strain, exposure, temperature, wear and use. <br />27 <br />28 ALTERNATES: <br />29 When the name of a manufacturer, brand or make, with or without model number, is used in <br />30 describing any item in this specification, bids for similar articles will be considered unless <br />31 otherwise stated. Bidders may also propose items of equivalent features or manufacturer's <br />32 updated pail or part number Purchasing shall be the sole judge as to whether such alternate <br />33 articles are acceptable. Unless bidder states to the contrary, articles offered will be assumed- to <br />34 be the specific article named in this specification. If not offering the specific article named, bidder <br />35 should enclose with its bid full information, specifications and descriptive data on items offered. <br />36 Purchasing reserves the right to permit deviations from the specifications if any article offered is <br />37 substantially in accord with Purchasing's specifications and is deemed by Purchasing to be of as <br />38 good quality and as fully satisfactory for its intended use, Bidder is responsible for identifying any <br />39 deviations from 'Purchasing's specifications. Bidders should not assume an alternate offered is an <br />40 approved equal. The City will evaluate the alternate and inform the bidder if the alternate is <br />41 acceptable.
