Reauest for a Letter of Interest and a Statement of Qualifications <br /> A notice of intent in the form of a public announcement by way of advertisement <br /> in a newspaper of general circulation shall be made to solicit letters of interest and <br /> statements of qualifications for a design-buiid project. The announcement shall also be <br /> distributed through advertisement in pubiications that will insure adequate competition <br /> and opportunities for qualified entities. <br /> 8. Reauest for Qualifications — Qualifications Packa�e <br /> The Port shall provide and/or make available a request for qualifications package <br /> to applicant entities which submit a letter of interest. The response to a request for <br /> qualifications package shall include, inter alia, statements of qualification by credentials <br /> and experience of design component members for the areas of expertise specific to the <br /> project and statements of qualification by experience and resources for the construction <br /> team component. False or misrepresented information fumished in response to a <br /> request for qualifications package shall be grounds for rejection. <br /> 9. Qualiflcations Evaluation Committee <br /> A. A Qualifications Evaluation Committee shall evaluate the responses to the <br /> request for qualifications package received by the Port. <br /> B. Each member of the Qualifications Evaluation Committee shall make a written <br /> scoring of the evaluation criteria as set out in Section 10 below, and the scoring shall be <br /> available for public review. Such scores shall be considered a Public Record. <br /> 10. Evaluation Criteria <br /> The following generai criteria used by the Qualifications Evaluation Committee in <br /> evaluating responses to the request for qualifications package for design-build services <br /> shall apply to both the design and construction components of any responding entity. <br /> A. The familiarity and experience of the prospective bidder with the particular type of <br /> public work or improvement project designated in the questionnaire; and <br /> B. The sufficiency of personnel, equipment, materials and other facilities or <br /> resources of the prospective bidder to accomplish the work of the designated project <br /> within the time specified, and in conformance to the specifications thereof; and <br /> C. The qualification and capacity of the prospective bidder to obtain, if requested by <br /> the Port, perfortnance and payment bonds in the amount of one hundred percent <br /> (100%) of the cost of the contract for the designated project from a bonding or security <br /> company licensed to do business in the State of Califomia; and <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> Port Design Build <br /> 07/15/2011 R <br />
