The Homelessness Prevention <br /> Legal Services Program provides free eviction defense, pairing clients who have <br /> the most serious legal issues with pro bono attorneys who take their cases and <br /> represent them in court. Funding Requested: $5812.50. Funding <br /> Recommended: $0. <br /> CORA 24-Hour Crisis Hotline and Support Services. The 24 Hour Crisis <br /> Hotline and Support Services provides 24-hour, year-round emergency <br /> assistance to victims of domestic violence, as well as those in danger of <br /> becoming victims of violence. Funding Requested: $15,000. Funding <br /> Recommended: $13,511. <br /> Fresh Lifelines for Youth, Inc (FLY). FLY is a nonprofit organization whose <br /> mission is to prevent juvenile crime and incarceration through legal education, <br /> mentoring, and leadership training. Funds requested are to provide legal <br /> education and leadership training to Redwood City at-risk youth attending County <br /> sponsored Community Schools in Redwood City and prevention programming to <br /> middle school youth in Redwood City. Funding Requested: $16,500. Funding <br /> Recommended: $10,000. <br /> Friends for Youth. Friends for Youth matches youth-in-need with adult <br /> volunteers in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Funding Requested: $7,500. <br /> Funding Recommended: $0. <br /> International Institute of the Bav Area (IIBA) — Servinq Immiqrant Victims of <br /> Violent Crime. The IIBA helps immigrants who are legally eligible to apply for <br /> work authorization, green cards, and obtain US Citizenship. Funds requested <br /> are to inform the immigrant community about the U visa laws - a visa specifically <br /> designated to provide legal status and work authorization for immigrant victims of <br /> violent crimes, including domestic violence, who would otherwise be afraid to call <br /> the police or testify in court — and to provide legal application assistance to those <br /> who qualify. Funding Requested: $10,000. Funding Recommended: $10,000. <br /> Mental Health Association of San Mateo Countv. The Mental Health <br /> Association Supportive Housing Program provides intensive case management <br /> support to formerly homeless individuals with mental illness who have recently <br /> moved into permanent housing.
