JULY 2011 THE BELMONT CREEK CHANNEL MNNTENANCE PROJECT- <br /> HABITAT MITIGATION AND MONITORING PLAN <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The San Mateo Counry Department of Public Works (County) is proposing to perform maintenance <br /> and bank repair on a 240-foot long segment of Belmont Creek as part of the Belmont Creek Channel <br /> Maintenance Project (Maintenance Project). This Habitat Mitigation and Monitoring Plan (HIVIMP) <br /> provides the concepts and direction for implementation and maintenance of the mitigation required <br /> by the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Boazd (Regional Board) Conditional <br /> Water Quality Certification (Site No. 02-41-00689) to compensate for temporary impacts to <br /> jurisdictional azeas associated with the Maintenance Project. <br /> The Maintenance Project unpacts will be mitigated through native plant restoration and invasive <br /> weed removal at the Belmont Creek Mitigation Site (Mitigation Site). Mitigation success will be <br /> assessed through performance standards for the establishment of planted species. Total monitoring <br /> requirements will be for an anticipated 3 yeazs or untii performance standards are met. As-built, <br /> annual, and final monitoring reports will be provided. <br /> I.
