Promotional appointments shall be made at the level in the new salary range which results in an increase of <br /> at least five percent (5°/a) but in no evenf shall the promoted employee receive less ihan the salary of any <br /> subordinate classification the employee is required to supervise directly. Promotional appointments which <br /> result in a salary increase of more than five percent (5%) may be made with the approval of the City <br /> Manager.
