, L . <br /> TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU) LOCAL 521 <br /> 4) Certification in Playground Safety Inspections <br /> I The Citv and Union aaree to meet durinq the term of the aareement to discuss local <br /> certification proqrams that meet the above-stated reauirements. <br /> Incentives: <br /> i s ' Certification - 1 % <br /> 2" Certification - 2.5% (total of 3.5%) <br /> 3` Certification - 2.5% (total of 6%) <br /> Maximum certification compensation shall not exceed 6% for any individual. <br /> All certifications are available to both classifications with restrictions and maximum as <br /> follows <br /> • Maximum of four (4) people to be compensated at one time for - Certificate <br /> in Pool Operations, Playground Safety Inspector, and HVAC/R (RSI Course <br /> or Sequoia lnstitute) <br /> • Senior Building Maintenance Workers shall have first choice at the 4 <br /> available slots. <br /> • Building Maintenance Workers shall be eligible to receive certification <br /> compensation on any remaining slots based on seniority and overall job <br /> performance. <br /> • If at any time a Senior person (by title or years of service) wished to obtain a <br /> certification in an area that has all four slots filled, the person with the least <br /> seniority in that slot will be required to forfeit their slot on this certification to <br /> make it available to the senior person once certification has been obtained. <br /> Maintaining the certification shall be the responsibility of the employee and is required <br /> to avoid loss of incentive pay. <br /> The City will reimburse employees for successful completion of Management approved <br /> courses to attain qualifying certification through the City-Wide Educational <br /> Reimbursement Program or Department training budget within budgeted limits. <br /> 15.15 CWEA Certification for Wastewater Division Employees <br /> �- �il,fier� S'v U-4-�f�'fi�s � <br /> Employees in the classifications of Publi orks Maintenanc�'�Vorker I, II and III, Lead <br /> Public Works Maintenance Worker, aa� Specialist and titi+it�rWorker assiqned to <br /> the Wastewater Division will be reclassified into new iob classifications with wastewater <br /> lob duties and the followinq certification requirements: <br /> Page 9 of 30 <br /> ��� <br /> � �� �� al$I � <br />
