6.1.A. - Page 43 <br />attend their Second Annual Making Dreams Come True community event in support of <br />immigrant youth, particularly in the Fair Oaks area, and sponsored by Redwood City <br />2020. They were asking for $10 ticket donation that will go directly to their college <br />scholarship fund and allow others to learn about the challenges they face. The event <br />would be on November 18, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Sequoia Union High School. <br />Mike Bautista stated that he had been through two appeals with the City on Kentfield <br />and R2 zoning and that he had provided hundreds of pages of documents regarding <br />staff lies and suppression of information. He questioned the role and actions of City <br />Council regarding City staff actions and said he had been rebuffed and that this was his <br />eighth time making public comments on this matter. <br />Deb Kramer, on behalf of the Energy Upgrade California program, said that the City of <br />Redwood City and PG &E (Pacific Gas and Electric Company) will have a homeowners' <br />workshop in the City Council Chambers on Wednesday, October 26 from 7:00 p.m. to <br />8:30 p.m. She spoke about the advantages of attending the workshop and the <br />availability funding for certain grants. This would include $4,000 from the state, a <br />matching $4,000 from the County, and additional funds from the Association of Bay <br />Area Governments for homeowners to upgrade their homes for energy efficiency. They <br />do appreciate preregistration and she expressed her thanks to several helpful staff <br />members and to a Council Member for publicizing the event. <br />M/S Gee /Bain to approve the Consent Calendar <br />Council Member Bain said that a map would be helpful in certain items on the Consent <br />Calendar. Vice Mayor Aguirre noted that there was a typo on the staff report regarding <br />the number of Historic Resources Advisory Committee members. Council Member <br />Foust asked if she could vote on the second reading of an ordinance even though she <br />was absent for the introduction and City Attorney Thompson confirmed that was <br />acceptable if the Council Member had read the materials.
