,'�. . <br /> ROLE OF LIBRE Collaborative <br /> The LIBRE project seeks to increase immigrants' access to critical safety net services by <br /> linking immigrants to safety net services through education, outreach, support services, <br /> and legal assistance. <br /> LIBRE will accomplish this goal by supporting and training community-based organizations <br /> that serve immigrants about eligibility for safety net services and dispel myths about the <br /> effects of such services on their immigration status. LIBRE will develop and provide <br /> outreach materials for community partners to distribute to their communities. Finally, <br /> through the Legal Aid Society, LIBRE will assist clients who face issues accessing safety net <br /> services. <br /> ARTICLE IV <br /> IMPLEMENTATION <br /> CITY obligations: <br /> 1. With support from LIBRE partners, provide outreach to 250 immigrants and <br /> distribute education materials to immigrant individuals and families relating to the <br /> potential availability of safety net benefits. <br /> 2. Assist 50-1001ow-income individuals and families who need help applying for safety net <br /> benefits. <br /> 3. With clienYs permission refer to LIBRE partners cases that CITY believes need legal <br /> advice for benefits or immigration. <br /> 4. Use LIBRE forms to keep accurate data concerning the number of individuals <br /> reached through outreach events and activities, the number of LIBRE brochures and <br /> materials distributed, the number applications assisted, and referrals to LIBRE <br /> partners for legal and other assistance. <br /> 5. Provide to the LIBRE Steering Committee a written progress report by January 10, <br /> 2012 and a final report by June 5, 2012. <br /> 6. Keeps records of referrals assisted or referrals to the Human Services Agency to <br /> apply for safety net benefits. <br /> LIBRE obligations: <br /> 1. Provide training for the CITY needed to provide the outreach activities, provide <br /> the LIBRE materials, and attend the outreach events as needed and available. <br /> 2. Provide consultation for CITY staff about organizing outreach activities and <br /> provide LIBRE materials. <br /> ARTICLE V <br /> INDEMNIFICATION <br /> The CITY will defend, indemnify and hold harmless LIBRE and the Legal Aid Society of San <br /> Mateo County and its officers, agents, employees and volunteers from and against all <br /> LIBRE Tier II MOU Phase II 2 <br />
