� � <br /> MINUTE ORDER <br /> N0: 85-115 <br /> CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br /> Redwood City � <br /> DATE: August 15, 1985 <br /> Attention: City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Director of Cor�nnunity Development <br /> SUBJECT: Appeal - Church of Christ, 901 Madison (203-10) <br /> Meeting of the Council af the City of Redwood City on August 12, 1985 <br /> Present: Councilmen Bury, Claire, Rhodes, Stangel and Vice Mayor Mosher <br /> Absent: Councilman Chandler and Mayor Britschgi <br /> The following motion was made and entered on the minutes: <br /> M/S: Bury/Rhodes to reverse the decision of the Zoning Administrator and <br /> grant the appeal for the Use Permit for a parking lot on property located at <br /> 840 Vera Avenue, Church of Christ, 901 Madison with�the conditions that fence ' <br /> height not be more than 6'4"; that there be a 15' setback and that the gate <br /> be locked; the following findings having been made : <br /> The establishm�t, maintenance and operation of the use applied for will <br /> not, under the circumstances of the particular case, be detrimental to <br /> the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort, or general welfare of persons <br /> residing or working in the.neighborhood of the proposed use and will not <br /> be detrimental or injurious to property or improvements in the <br /> neighborhood or to the general welfare of the City for the following <br /> reasons: <br /> i. The proposed use will preserve the purpose of Article 30 of the <br /> Zoning Ordinance in that it will provide for off-street parking of <br /> vehicles reasonably close to the property to be served thereby, thus <br /> reducing the denand for on-street parking; <br /> ii. Alternatives to the design of the off-street parking facility as <br /> proposed by the applicant would create unsafe conditions with <br /> respect to the use of the applicant's premises located nearby for <br /> pre-school and other programs for• children; <br /> iii. The proposal will enhance the value of properties in the <br /> neighborhood by creating an improved condition of an otherwise <br /> unimproved lot. <br /> Carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> � <br /> ` JACQUELINE C.
