.3ti10.5 Potential Effect Aircraft approaching the airport from the vicinity of the INBR
tower wou . not be able to see :aircraft cl * bin out after de arture on Runwa . 3 0
 p y.
behind the Project buildings, especially the 10-story vice building
Fludin s: The City hereby makes finding (1)0
Facts in Support of Findi mss
(a) Exhibit 24 shows the line -of -sight from the vicinity of the KNBR tourer
over the 1 O -story building to the extended centerline on Run 30 . The exhibit
shows that arriving aircraft in the vicinity of the KNBR tower would have to be
below 700 feet MSL for the 1 O -story building to block the line of si g ht from the
aircraft to the extended runway centerline. Aircraft in this area icall are at an
p y
altitude of about l ,too .MSL. Similarly, aircraft in the traffic pattern would also
have an unobstructed view of the airport and extended runwa y centerline.
(b) The existing .Paragon building, because of its position nearer the extended
runway center lino, already impedes the line of sight from the DYER tower in this
area. The Project would riot impair this line of sight.
s
:3.10.6 Potential Effect: Project buildings may interfere with the Belmont dough
Departure from . Runway 3 0., as well as with arrivals in the local trams c p attern.
Finiin„ s : The City .belreb ma finding y g
Fin of Fin ding s. - .
(a) The base leg or crosswind turns would most likely occur anywhere from
7 ,200 to 10,000 feet from the ATCT (orfrom 5,600 to 8,400 feet from the nearest
runway end). At a distance of 7,200 feet from the tower, controllers would not be
able to see any objects below Zoo feet MSL behind the 10-story building. At a,
distance of 1 01,000 . feet from the control tower, only objects behind the 1 O - story
office building below 265 feet MSL. would not be visible to controllers. This
mould not represent a problem, as aircraft
in
these areas operate well above these
altitudes.
FNDNGP 1..DGC
5/30/96.10:51 AM
