2.1 GEOTECHNICA CONSIDERATIONS <br />2.1.1 Potential Effect: Development of the Project will result in increased exposure to <br />seismic risks. <br />Findin The City hereby makes Findings (1) and (3). <br />Pacts in SuDDose of Find= s: <br />(a) his :stated in the Redwood Peninsla EIR, "Detailed studies haveshown <br />that [the Redwood Peninsula] is no worse than many other sites which . have been <br />and are routinely approved for :development, It would be unreasonable to deny <br />development here and have it go on.at some equally hazardous area.. Recognizing <br />this situation, the City and various. other public agencies have maimed a policy <br />which allows development of the Redwood Peninsula . (given that certain technical <br />requirements are met)." (Redwood Peninsula EIR, pp. v -1 -- v -2.) <br />N The Planned Development Permit .includes a condition requiring the <br />applicant to comply with all recommnendations of the geotechnical report on file <br />with the Building D' * sion. Compliance Frith these require ll reduce <br />requirements wi <br />seisrrnc risk. <br />(c) Although City requirements and design features incorporated into the <br />Project will reduce the sig'nif icance of the identified effect, .seismic risk cannot be <br />entirely eliminated.
