6.1.E.-Page2
Conducting a separate competitive bid process would probably not result in any cost
savings since the County of Sacramento's bid process included all of the same criteria
and requirements that Redwood City competitive bid would have included.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the purchase of this replacement rodder were approved by City Council in the
FY 2011/12 Equipment Replacement Fund Budget in the amount of $135,000.00. This
amount was a projected cost for similar equipment at the time the budget was
submitted. However, due to change in emission related regulations for the heavy duty
on road engines, the cost increased substantially. Staff recommends borrowing the
balance of $99,634.02 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. This amount will be
subsequently recovered from the operating budget of the user department through
vehicle replacement charges in future years.
TERENCE KYAW
FLEET MANAGER

;
MARILYN HARANG
ACTING PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
ROBERT B.
