vote tonight. Another Council Member welcomed the additional interview session to engage the applicants one more time. Another Council Member suggested delaying it to January and make appointments in early 2012 to allow for a better sense of the applicants. M/S Seybert/Ira to have Council vote on up to three candidates that would go to the next level and do another set of interviews for about 15-minutes each. Each applicant that gets four votes moves on to this next level. Motion carried by electronic vote 6-1 with Council Member Bain opposing. MINUTE ORDER 11-200 Another Council Member welcomed this process change because there were two applicants that were absent and she would like to possibly interview them. Another Council member noted that the Planning Commission is entering new territory with the new appeals process and he wants to make sure that the right person is going to be appointed because there is a lot more work and responsibility. This Council Member also agreed with delaying the process but getting another chance to interview the finalists. (304) Recommendation: Approve by motion and authorize the City Manager or designee to enter into a discussion to develop a partnership agreement and to conduct a market study for a joint use recreation facility with the YMCA of Silicon Valley. Mr. Chris Beth, Director of Parks and Recreation, presented the report on public private partnerships and how the Veterans Memorial Senior Center is a community "gem" that is highly used by a variety of audiences. He commented on the state of the building and how it is deteriorating.
