WHEREAS, the portions of Shoreway Road and Skyway Road being improved lie within <br /> both corporate limits of the City of Redwood City and the City of San Carlos; and <br /> WHEREAS, the San Carlos area to receive bike improvements in accordance with this <br /> Agreement is shown on Exhibit "A", attached to and incorporated by this reference; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed bike improvements on Shoreway Road and Skyway Road <br /> shall include, but not be limited to: mobilization, maintaining traffic, sign installation, removal of <br /> existing traffic stripes, installation new of traffic stripes, pavement markings, pavement markers, <br /> and other items of work associated with the bike improvements. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. San Carlos grants the necessary permission to Redwood City to do work in and <br /> upon the public right of way within the corporate limits of San Carlos as herein described and <br /> shown on Exhibit "A." <br /> 2. Redwood City will include in its contract for the above-described project bike <br /> improvements on portions of Shoreway Road and Skyway Road within the corporate limits of <br /> San Carlos. <br /> 3. Redwood City will award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder pursuant to <br /> the competitive bid processes as set forth in Chapter 2, Section VII of the Redwood City Code. <br /> Redwood City agrees to notify San Carlos of the successful bidder to whom the construction <br /> contract is awarded. <br /> 4. Redwood City will award a contract for the complete bike improvements project, <br /> which shall include the work described above for the San Carlos portion of the bike <br /> improvements. The work to be performed shall be completed pursuant to and in accord with <br /> standard Redwood City specifications. <br /> 5. The construction contract shall require the contractor to obtain and maintain <br /> insurance and surety bonds as set forth in Redwood City's standard public works contract <br /> Document 700 General Conditions, Part II.
