To increase the 2000 base year DUI arrests by 10% each holiday enforcement period: <br /> <br /> a) Christmas and New Years from 474-to 521 during the period of December 14,2001to <br /> January 2, 2002, and from 521_ to. 573 during December 13, 2002 to January 2, 2003; <br /> <br /> b) Memorial Day from 58 to 64 during the Period of May 24 to 27, 2002; and fi:om <br /> 64 to 70 between May 30 to June 2, 2003; <br /> <br /> c) Labor Day from 68 to 74 between August 30 and September 2, 2002, and from 74 <br /> to 81 betweezz the per/od of August 29, through September 1, 2003. <br /> <br /> 10. To increase DUI warrant arrests 10% by September 2, 2003, from a baseline to be established during <br /> the first grant year ending the calendar September 2, 2002. <br /> <br />Public Awareness Camj~aign Requirements <br /> <br /> 11. To conduct "Avoid the 23" public information campaigns during the periods of: <br /> <br /> a) December 14, 2001 to January 2, 2002, May 24 to 27, 2002, and August 30 to September 2, <br /> 2002; <br /> <br /> b) December 13, 2002 to January 2, 2003, May 30 to June 2, 2003, and August 29 to September 1, <br /> 2003. <br /> <br /> 12. To prepare complete press info, marion for broadcast reporters during each campaign period including a <br /> main press release, campaign calendar, departmental plans and facts sheet. The mater/al will emphasize <br /> the campaign's serious, aggressive enforcement and the high cost of DUI in teims of money, criminal <br /> consequences and human misery,. The information for each campaign period will be completed by <br /> December 1; May 1; and August 15, of each grant year. <br /> <br /> 13.
