To conduct an intensive news bureau, including daily reporting of statistics on DUI arrests, injuries and <br /> deaths to the major local newspapers: San Mateo Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and the San Jose <br /> Mercury News, Oakland Tribune. The news bureau will report statistics every morning before 8 a.m. <br /> during the periods of: <br /> <br /> a) December 14, 2001 to January 2, 2002, May 24 to 27, 2002, and August 30 to September 2, <br /> 2002; <br /> <br /> b) December 13, 2002 to January 2, 2003, May 30 to June 2, 2003, and August 29 to September 1, <br /> 2003. <br /> <br />15. To issue at least eight daily Christmas and New Year's news stories over the fax to daily and weekly <br /> newspapers, to radio and television, to wire services and to the Office of Traffic Safety each project year <br /> by January 2, 2002, and January 2, 2003. <br /> <br />16. During each campaign period of each project year, to place at least: <br /> <br /> a) Eight newspaper stories, 7 radio and 7 television stories during Christmas and New Years <br /> holidays December 14, 2001 to January 2, 2002, and December 13, 2002 to January 2, 2003; <br /> <br /> b) Eight newspaper stories, 4 radio and 4 television stories during the Memorial Day holiday period <br /> from May 24 to 27, 2002; and May 30 to June 2, 2003; <br /> <br /> c) Eight newspaper stories, 4 radio and 4 television stories during the Labor Day holiday periods <br /> from August 30 to September 2, 2002, and August 29 to September 1, 2003. <br /> <br />17. To e-mail all press releases or media advisories, alerts, and material to the OTS Public Information <br /> Officer at PIO@ots.ca~gov and OTS Kegional Coordinator for approval prior to their release. <br /> <br />1 g. To use the following standard language in all press and media materials: "Funding for this program was <br /> provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the Business, Transportation <br /> and Housing Agency." : <br /> <br />19. To submit print clip articles b, 9 a.m. to the OTS Public Information Officer by e-mail at <br /> PIO~ots.ea.~ov and OTS Regional Coordinator, or via fax at (916) 262-2960. Include publication <br /> name, and date the article was published on' all clips. <br /> <br />20. To email to the OTS Public Information Officer at PIO~ots.ca. gov and OTS Regional Coordinator at <br /> least one month in advance, a short description of any new traffic safety event or program. <br /> <br />21.
