Council discussed the scope of the EIR (environmental impact report) and whether the <br />study will cover the storm gyrator runoff and other hydrology issues. Mr. Passanisi, Principal <br />Planner, explained' that the EIR gold cover the hydrology and other water issues. <br />Questions were posed about who Is paying for the EIR. . Mr. Passanisi explained that there <br />was a determination by the City Attorney that the Council could not pay for the EIR. one <br />Council Member thanked staff for including previous meeting minutes fror 1986 and 1988 <br />when the Council discussed this ratter. There was an additional request that minutes from <br />when the discussion took place to direct staff to come back with options as far as an EIR <br />also be included. Staff Reports <br />San Mateo County Darks for the Future — ..rye, 2008 Ealiot Mea <br />Recommendation: <br />Adopt a resolution to endorse the Parks for the Future one - eighth cent sales tax <br />measure (Measure) wh ich would support parks and recreation activities in San <br />Mateo County for a period of 25 years, (307) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14853 OF THE CITY of REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING <br />RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE THE PARKS FOR THE FUTURE ONE- EIGHTH CENT <br />SALES TAX MEASURE ON THE JUNE 3� 2008 BALLOT. <br />Corinne Centeno, narks Recr and Community Services Director, presented the report <br />on Measure r o and she introduced other staff members from San Mateo County~ She <br />explained this would raise the County tax rate to 8 .375%. Shawn White, Chair of the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission, addressed the Council and offered this commissions' <br />endorsement because this is an investment in the future (presentation on file). Julia Bach, <br />Executive Director of the Parks Foundation with the County of Sari Mateo, explained why <br />this ratter is going before the voters again. She noted that on two polls conducted, there <br />was 0% support for the measure and the June primary is the best time to take it to the <br />voters because it will not be a cro ballot, Is.
