"Funding for Planning Commission Training" Council discussed what might a reasonable amount nt e and what might be appropriate training. There was some discussion about including other bodies or not. After some discussion Council directed staff to come back with information on the proposed training, propose an amount and how it correlates to the professional development staff has available. It was suggested that it b clarified w hat is already being provided to the Planning Commission. Council agreed that this was solely for the Planning Commission. On the "Community Ne r ttee item, there was consensus that this was a priority item for the Council. The !Mayor said this is a direct mail piece to 38,000 households to be seat six tires a year and it will highlight the community and a city department. Her main goal is to increase accessibility to information and build community. One Council Member shared concerns with staff capacitor and burnout in certain areas of the organization mainly the Planning Division. Council also discussed the area of Parks Recreation and Community Services and maybe this atea should b looked at regarding staffing levels. Council discussed the need to be kept apprised if there are staffing levels concerns or if for financial reasons the priorities are not attainable. one Council Member stated that as a matter of policy, the Council grants -to hear if the organization is losing people because of work load issues. Council reached consensus that the Strategic Planning process would be addressed by the Mayor, vice Mayor and the Executive Team and then brought back for Council discussion. This group would frame an approach for Council consideration. C. Dates for Budget Consideration. Recommendation: Approve the dates for formal action of the budget. (501) Mo - -042 Mayor Foust read the proposed dates and all Council Members agreed. M/S .ire /Aguirre to approve the proposed dates. Motion carries unanimously by a voice acts. D. Fiscal Year 2007/2008 Appropriation Revisions. Recommendation: Approve by resolution, appropriating and transferring certain funds for specified purposes to conform the budgeted amounts to actual expenditures approved for transactions, which h ave occurred during fiscal year 2007/2008.
