Taken out of sequence <br />3. Council Member Pierce announced that she has been working with lousing <br />Our People Effectively HOP to broaden the number of communities involved <br />She announced that Redwood City was invited to participate in the Home Outreach <br />Team program and the goal is to assist homeless people to fired long tern housing. <br />She also attended a presentation through the Clean dater Bay Area Agencies and <br />she provided details about that session. <br />2. Council Member Hartnett reported on s erving on the Board of Directors of the <br />San Mateo Transit District and the CalTrain Joint Powers Board. H explained that <br />Samtrans has had an increase in ridership and they are working on a Strategic Plan <br />and a review of the Service Model. Regarding High Speed Rail, he said it right or <br />right not come down the tracks but the committee has discussed tentative stops at <br />Palo Alto, Redwood City and Millbrae. He said that this night be something the <br />Council wants to formulate a position on. He announced that the Chamber of <br />Commerce Transportation Housing Committee will have a meeting on February 14, <br />2008 at lunch time. Council Member Hartnett referred to the latest financial <br />statistics for SarTrans and these had been emailed to the Council prior. <br />Mayor Foust explained that at the beginning of February a "Cool Campaigns 3 will be <br />launched because sustainability and environmental stewardship are important to the <br />community and the Council. She explained that this is a community initiative that former <br />Mayor Pierce had endorsed through the signing of the U Mayors Climate Protection <br />Agreement. She provided details about the allocated budget and hoer it allowed the hiring <br />of one person. This person, Beth foss, was able to secure additional funding for this <br />initiative. <br />Council Member Aguirre announced an upcoming community workshop on January 16, <br />2008 at Hoover School. Due to a grant from CalTrans there are funds available to improve <br />mobility in the community. At this meeting the community can review options on hoer to <br />make sidewalks on Woodside (near Middlefield) safer and convenient for w alking and <br />icing. <br />9. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned in memory of Mari Hartnett. M. Hartnett <br />was a community member, a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and will be sorely <br />missed. She was a relative of Council Member Hartnett and he announced the <br />schedule of upcoming services.
