. Proposed specifications and standards. Redwood City shall supply "boiler <br /> plate" sections of the standard specifications as commonly used for <br /> similar work by Redwood City, from which Consultant shall modify as <br /> needed for this project. Consultant will develop all technical <br /> specifications. <br /> 90% Design Submittal and Review <br /> Consultant shall develop complete (90%) design plans and specifications for the project <br /> for Redwood City final review. Detailed design shall conform to all applicable water <br /> industry codes and Redwood City design standards; and shall be stand-alone bid <br /> documents. As delivered, the 90% documents shall be ready for advertisement and <br /> competition, to the extent practical, subject to any changes the Redwood City may <br /> identify or limited open issues. <br /> Consultant shall prepare an updated draft Engineer's Cost Estimate for construction <br /> activities. Consultant shall perform an internal QA audit of the designs to assure that <br /> the designs meet the intended project goals in a cost effective manner. <br /> Consultant shali assist Redwood City in responding to the 90% Design Review <br /> Submittal comments from Redwood City Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering <br /> staff. <br /> The following design assumptions shall apply: <br /> 1. Specifications shall be created using Redwood City general requirements <br /> and standard technical specifications. Redwood City shall provide <br /> electronic files for specifications. Consultant will provide all technical <br /> specifications. <br /> Deliverables. <br /> 1. Three sets (11" x 17") of drawings and specifications shall be provided to <br /> Redwood City for review at the 90% level of completion. Consultant shall <br /> have performed its internal quality control prior to this submittal. <br /> 2. Electronic files on CD diskette (or delivered by email) to Redwood City. <br /> 3. Preliminary Engineer's Estimate. Estimate shall include a breakdown of <br /> labor, material quantities, and unit prices. The estimate shall list all <br /> assumptions including overhead and profit, subcontract mark-ups, tax and <br /> contingency. Support documents shall be submitted with the cost <br /> estimate. <br /> 4. One set of 90% Calculations, stamped "Not for Construction". <br /> 100% Design <br /> Due to the need to keep costs separate for purposes of FEMA co-funding (if available), <br /> Consultant will develop the specifications and drawings for Carson reservoir assuming it <br /> is bid separately from other work elements (Tasks 1 and 2).
