• Specifications shall be created using Redwood City general requirements <br /> and technical specifications. Redwood City shall provide electronic files <br /> for specifications. <br /> Deliverables. <br /> • Three sets (11" x 17") of drawings and specifications shall be provided to <br /> Redwood City for review at the 90% level of completion. Consultant shall <br /> have performed its internal quality control prior to this submittal. <br /> • Electronic files on CD diskette (or delivered by email) to Redwood City. <br /> • Preliminary Engineer's Estimate. Estimate shall include a breakdown of <br /> labor, material quantities, and unit prices. The estimate shall list all <br /> assumptions including overhead and profit, subcontract mark-ups, tax <br /> and contingency. Support documents shall be submitted with the cost <br /> estimate. <br /> • One set of 90% Calculations, stamped "Not for Construction". <br /> 100% Design <br /> Due to the need to keep costs separate for purposes of FEMA co-funding (if available), <br /> Consultant will develop the specifications and drawings for equipment modifications <br /> assuming it is bid separately from other work elements (Tasks 1 and 2). Depending on <br /> what happens with the FEMA grant request, this might be altered to best serve <br /> Redwood City and FEMA's needs. <br /> Redwood City will pertorm a detailed design review of the 90% submittal. Consulant will <br /> meet with Redwood City staff to review comments on the 90% review. <br /> Consultant shall make all necessary revisions and modifications to the 90% Design as <br /> agreed upon between Redwood City and Consultant. These revisions and <br /> modifications will be incorporated into the 100% Finalized Plans, Calculations and <br /> Specifications. All comments shall be either incorporated, or responded to if not <br /> incorporated. Consultant shall finalize all construction documents for bidding (i.e., plans <br /> and specifications) and shall finalize the Engineer's Cost Estimate. <br /> Task 4. Peninsula Tanks <br /> It is recognized that the existing pile foundations for the Peninsula 1 and 2 tanks may <br /> have been somewhat damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, and possibly much <br /> more seriously damaged in future larger earthquakes. <br /> In order to establish a suitable long term capital plan for these two tanks, the following <br /> investigations will be pertormed. <br /> • Pertorm subsurface inspections at six locations along the perimeters of these iwo <br /> tanks (three locations per tanks). To do this, Consultant will work with Redwood <br /> City to organize a contractor (or Redwood City forces) to excavate about 6-foot <br /> deep pits at suitable locations along the edges of the tanks.
