Statement of Purpose of ineeting (Patricia Brown, Executive Director, RC <br /> 2020) <br /> To ensure that policy leaders of Redwood City 2020's Partner <br /> Organizations understand the role of Redwood City 2020 as a forum for <br /> working together to address complex issues of concern in this community <br /> and promote health and success for children, youth and families. <br /> Ms. Brown shared with all present the goals for the meeting. <br /> 6:70 PM Introductions/Review of planned agenda (Maria Diaz Slocum) <br /> 6:20 PM Brief overview of RC 2020 (Patricia Brown, Executive Director, RC 2020) <br /> Why and how RC 2020 was formed, current strategic plan priorities, <br /> structure, funding and evaluation. <br /> Ms. Brown thanked all policy makers present for their commitment to this <br /> organization and its goals of partnering and collaboration. She proceeded to give <br /> an overview of the origins of this organization (presentation on file). She <br /> highlighted its current priorities and the direction of this organization. <br /> 6:30 PM Updates from Programs <br /> Various beneficiary organizations shared real life situations and statistics that <br /> illustrated the value Redwood City 2020 brings to the community and the quality of <br /> life of youth (videos and presentations on file). Some of the presenters included <br /> Sandra Portasio, Maria Fernandez and Judy Romero. <br /> Various members of the public thanked the presenters for the information. Some <br /> members of the public provided testimonials on the importance of assisting youth at <br /> risk. <br /> Various Council Members asked questions regarding publicizing what is already <br /> being done through these collaborative efforts. <br /> 7:00 PM Public comment - none <br /> 7:15 PM Policy leaders: questions, comments <br /> The various leaders discussed what was shared tonight and what has been <br /> accomplished to date. Mayor Foust shared her pride in these partnerships that <br /> snowball into benefits and services for the community at large.
