The Contractor shall retain a design engineer to be the designer of record for <br /> the project. The scope of services is the following: <br /> 6.1 Design <br /> The Contractor's engineer will be responsible for the developing the final design for all aspects of the <br /> Wharves I and 2 Replacement Project including wharf design, seawall design, MEP design, site civil <br /> design, and building design. T'he design should be based upon the intent of the 35% design which will <br /> be pmvided as part of the RFP package. A geotechnical investigation has been performed at the site <br /> and the geotechnical report will be provided with the RFP package. The Contractor's engineer will <br /> also be responsible for creating the final specifications for the project. Minimum specifications will <br /> be provided as part of the RFP package. It is envisioned the selected Contractor will work closely <br /> with the Port and the Port's consultants to advance a design that meets the Port's functional needs as <br /> well as the performance criteria that will be identified in the RFP package. The Contractor will be <br /> responsible for coordinating all urilities. In preparation for this project, the Port has iniriated the <br /> pennit process with three agencies for long lead time pemuts. These pernuts and the status of these <br /> permits is discussed in the Pemut section of this RFQ. The Contractor will be required to obtain all <br /> other permits and will be responsible for all other pemut fees. <br /> 6.2 Preconstruction Services <br /> The Contractor will be responsible for preconshuction services. A project schedule must be <br /> completed that identifies the critical items required to meet the Port's schedule goal. The Contractor <br /> will also be required to develop a phasing plan to maintain current wharf operations as well as to <br /> minimi�e impaCts to Polt tenants. <br /> Page 7 d 2e <br /> �'�A <br />
