6.3.A. - Page 10 0 SIDE LETTER AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS/ SAN MATEO COUNTY FIRE FIGHTERS LOCAL 2400 The following document contains the Side Letter Agreement between the City of Redwood City (hereinafter called "City ") and the International Association of Fire Fighters/ San Mateo County Fire Fighters Local 2400 (hereinafter called "Association ") (hereinafter collectively called "the parties ") on wages, hours and terms and conditions of employment. The salaries, hours, fringe benefits and working conditions set forth have been mutually agreed upon by the designated bargaining representatives of the City and the Association. The parties have met and conferred and agree that any and all mutual understandings are hereby incorporated. Any outstanding proposals not agreed to are hereby withdrawn by the parties. The parties agree to the following terms and conditions, subject to ratification of the bargaining unit and adoption by the City Council. WHEREAS, the City employs individuals in the job classification of Fire Prevention Officer; WHEREAS, Fire Prevention Officers were recently transferred from the bargaining unit represented by Service Employees International Union Local 521 ( "SEIU ") to the bargaining unit represented by the International Association of Fire Fighters/ San Mateo County Fire Fighters Local 2400 ( "Association ") through a unit modification agreed to by the City, Association, and SEIU; WHEREAS, the City has determined that reclassification of the current Fire Prevention Officers to Deputy Fire Marshal is appropriate; NOW THEREFORE, The City and Association agree to the following terms: 1. Deputy Fire Marshal Job Classification The City will establish the job classification of Deputy Fire Marshal. Employees (Jamison Lee and Ulrich Peretz) currently classified as Fire Page 1 of 5
