6.3.A. - Page 11 <br />Prevention Officers will be reclassified as Deputy Fire Marshals, effective <br />January 1, 2012. <br />2. Work Schedule (To be added to Section 7.3) <br />The regular workweek for employees in the classification of Deputy Fire <br />Marshal and Fire Prevention Officer shall be a 40 -hour work week (typically <br />five consecutive 8 -hour days), with the option of working an alternative work <br />schedule based on the operating needs of the department. The work schedule <br />is subject to approval by the Fire Chief and can be changed at any time. <br />3. Salary (To be added to Section 7.2) <br />Effective the first of the pay period closest to January 1, 2012 (January 2, <br />2012), step one monthly salary for Deputy Fire Marshal will be set at <br />$8,700.00 per month. The two current Fire Prevention Officers will be <br />reclassified to Deputy Fire Marshal effective January 2, 2012 and <br />compensated at step one of the salary range upon reclassification. <br />Effective the first of the pay period closest to January 1, 2013 (December 31, <br />2012), employees in the classification of Deputy Fire Marshal and Fire <br />Prevention Officer will receive a two percent (2 %) increase to their base <br />salary. <br />4. Holidays (To be added to Section 8.1) <br />The following shall be paid holidays for 40 -hour employees: <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Luther King Jr. Day (observed on the third Monday in January) <br />Washington's Birthday (observed on the third Monday in February) <br />Memorial Day (observed on the last Monday in May) <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day (observed on the first Monday in September) <br />Veterans Day (observed November 11) <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />The Day After Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />New Year's Eve <br />Forty -hour employees will receive two administrative holidays per year, which <br />may only be taken in eight (8) hour increments. At the option of the 40 -hour <br />employee, the employee may receive pay at the worker's straight time rate of <br />pay in lieu of one or both of the administrative holidays at eight (8) hours per <br />administrative holiday.
