Weekend Holidays (To be added to Section 8.2) When any of the above - listed holidays falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be considered the holiday. When any of the above - listed holidays falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered the holiday. 6. Work on a Holiday (To be added to Section 8.3) Any 40 -hour employee required to work on any holiday listed above (not including administrative holidays) shall, in addition to regular pay for such holiday, be paid one and one -half (1 -1/2) times his /her established rate of pay for all hours actually worked on such holiday. 7. Holiday During Vacation or Sick Leave (To be added to Section 8.4) In the event any of the holidays above occurs while a 40 -hour employee is on vacation or sick leave, the employee's paid time off for that day shall not be charged as vacation or sick leave. 8. Holidays on A Regular Day Off (To be added to Section 8) The 40 -hour employee shall be allowed a regular workday off during any pay period in which a holiday falls on the employee's scheduled day off. If the Department Head or designated representative determines that it is not feasible to grant such other workday off, the employee shall be paid for the holiday on the basis of time and one -half (1 -1/2) but not to exceed eight (8) hours for any one (1) holiday. 9. Amendments to Section 7 - Pay 7.2 Salaries The compensation in the classification of Deputy Fire Marshal shall be included in the comparison survey by comparing the total compensation rates of Deputy Fire Marshals in Redwood City to the median of total compensation rates of Deputy Fire Marshals, or in the absence thereof, to the median of total compensation rates of Fire Inspectors (II or III), in the cities to be surveyed as listed in Section 7.2.
