Weekend Holidays (To be added to Section 8.2) <br />When any of the above - listed holidays falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday <br />shall be considered the holiday. <br />When any of the above - listed holidays falls on Sunday, the following Monday <br />shall be considered the holiday. <br />6. Work on a Holiday (To be added to Section 8.3) <br />Any 40 -hour employee required to work on any holiday listed above (not <br />including administrative holidays) shall, in addition to regular pay for such <br />holiday, be paid one and one -half (1 -1/2) times his /her established rate of pay <br />for all hours actually worked on such holiday. <br />7. Holiday During Vacation or Sick Leave (To be added to Section 8.4) <br />In the event any of the holidays above occurs while a 40 -hour employee is on <br />vacation or sick leave, the employee's paid time off for that day shall not be <br />charged as vacation or sick leave. <br />8. Holidays on A Regular Day Off (To be added to Section 8) <br />The 40 -hour employee shall be allowed a regular workday off during any pay <br />period in which a holiday falls on the employee's scheduled day off. <br />If the Department Head or designated representative determines that it is not <br />feasible to grant such other workday off, the employee shall be paid for the <br />holiday on the basis of time and one -half (1 -1/2) but not to exceed eight (8) <br />hours for any one (1) holiday. <br />9. Amendments to Section 7 - Pay <br />7.2 Salaries <br />The compensation in the classification of Deputy Fire Marshal shall be <br />included in the comparison survey by comparing the total compensation rates <br />of Deputy Fire Marshals in Redwood City to the median of total compensation <br />rates of Deputy Fire Marshals, or in the absence thereof, to the median of total <br />compensation rates of Fire Inspectors (II or III), in the cities to be surveyed as <br />listed in Section 7.2. <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
