B. -Page 6 DWOOD CITY <br />ASSISTANT PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR — MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS <br />(Continued) <br />Supervise the work of others, including planning, directing, monitoring and <br />evaluating staff. <br />Select, train and evaluate professional and technical staff. <br />Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. <br />Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships <br />with those contacted in the course of work. <br />Operate a motor vehicle safely. <br />Experience and Training Guidelines: <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the <br />required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br />knowledge and abilities would be. <br />Experience: <br />Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the management of <br />maintenance operations functions, including significant experience at the <br />management or supervisory level. <br />Training: <br />Equivalent to a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university <br />with major course work in public administration, business administration, <br />or a related field. <br />License or Certificate: <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license. <br />Special Requirements <br />Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment. <br />Ability to work in a standard office environment with some ability to travel to <br />different locations. <br />Effective Date: <br />Bargaining Group: Unrepresented <br />Status: Executive Management / Exempt / At -Will <br />
