8. A -zz <br />APPENDIX III <br />I Audio <br />Imagine a community where children <br />have no where to go after school, but <br />to empty homes because their parents <br />work to pay the rent. There is no extra <br />money for childcare or activities. Many <br />times these are the youth that fall into <br />juvenile delinquency and unfortunately <br />into the family of gangs. <br />Pause <br />Kid Shot or Story <br />I'm Capt. Scott Warner and I'd like to <br />tell you about Redwood City Police <br />Activities League - one of our <br />community's best -kept secrets. <br />Redwood City PAL provides youth with <br />intervention, prevention and alternate <br />programs to juvenile delinquency. We <br />provide youth with positive role models <br />and mentors, so they can make positive <br />life decisions. We provide youth and <br />their families with improved life skills <br />that will insure a better quality of life. <br />Redwood City has a large number of <br />youth that have no place to go after <br />school. Redwood City Police Activities <br />League serves over 3,000 youth per <br />year in throughout Redwood City. <br />Redwood City PAL offers the youth of <br />Redwood City three programs: <br />The first program is PAL On Campus <br />provides youth with after school <br />programs between after school and <br />7pm. These are the hours that studies <br />have shown that youth are most likely <br />to participate in juvenile delinquent <br />activities. <br />The program that PAL is best known for <br />is our On Campus Programs include: <br />Video Script <br />Redwood City PAL <br />Video <br />I <br />Shot of kid all alone ,,,story of how PAL <br />helped them stay out of trouble <br />Capt Warner <br />Shot of cops with kids - <br />Overview of Redwood City area to kids <br />on street or alone <br />Sports into individual shots <br />Basketball Shot <br />14 <br />
