A
ACB
INTRODUCTION
American City Bureau, under a contract with Police Activities League of Redwood City,
California, conducted a Developmental Study for PAL over the period July 17 through
August 8, 2000, to determine the probable levels of acceptance and support for a $4
million campaign for construction of a building and establishment of an endowment.
A total of 41 confidential interviews were conducted, including two by telephone. Dale
Lloyd, a Senior Consultant and Vincent G. Bradley, Jr., a Vice President of American City
Bureau, conducted the interviews. Interviewees represented the League's volunteer Board
members, top supporters, and a representative group of business and civic leaders.
_ Some, but by no means all, were known to have an awareness of the Redwood City
community pulse. A complete list of those interviewed is in the Addendum to this report.
The assembled research, interviews, and other available data regarding the Redwood City
PAL and the community were reviewed by senior executive personnel of American City
Bureau from August 11 to August 23, 2000, during the writing of this report. This
Developmental Study is a compilation of the analysis of findings, conclusions, and
recommendations. It represents American City Bureau's best judgment of the Redwood
City PAL's fund - raising potential.
1
