Box 391
Redwood City, CA 94064-0391

Subject: Maintenance Plan and Manual
Redwood Shores Lagoon

Dear Chu:

We have prepared and are pleased to submit this proposal to prepare a Maintenance Plan and
Manual for Redwood Shores Lagoon in response to the City's request.

SCOPE OF SERVICES
It is our understanding that the long-term goals of an infrastructure, operation and
maintenance plan for the Redwood Shores Lagoon will include developing the following
elements:

· Inventory of the existing facilities.
· Assessment of the useful life of the existing facilities.
· Preventative maintenance program.
· Capital replacement plan.
· Plan to reduce the risk of public health hazards.
· Plan to minimize emergency calls from citizens.
· Plan to minimize physical damage to public and private property.

Based upon recent discussions with the City staff, we understand that a first step toward
achieving the above goals is to develop a plan for the operation, repair and replacemnt of the
primary facilities and the dewatering structures at the Lagoon. The primary facilities are:
Belmont Slough Lagoon Outfall, Inlet Belpipes 1 & 2, Inlet Belpipes 3 & 4, Area I Inlet, Pump
Discharge Facility No. 1 and Pump Discharge Facility No. 2. There are approximately 15 to 25
dewatering structures and they are located throughout the Lagoon.

consulting · engineering · construction · operations
