station will be a major transportation station for booth CalTrains and SamTrans' <br />busses. <br /> <br /> 5. The applicant has requested and has obtained a Letter of Intent from the <br />PCJPB (Exhibit "D") to grant an easement to the City of Redwood City across the <br />railroad right-of-way for the proposed at-grade public pedestrian crossing. <br /> <br /> 6. The applicant has attached as Exhibits "E" and "F", a copy of the Draft <br />and Final Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Gateway Center Mixed Use <br />Development and Transit Project which includes the proposed at-grade public <br />pedestrian crossing as required by Rule 17.1 of the CPUC "Rules of Practice and <br />Procedure." <br /> <br /> 7. Attached Exhibit "A" is a vicinity map showing the relationship between <br />the proposed public at-grade pedestrian crossing, the railroad, adjacent streets and <br />shopping center. <br /> <br /> 8. Attached Exhibit "B" shows the details of the proposed crossing with its <br /> <br />dimensions, location of guide fences, automatic warning systems and the relationship <br />to the adjacent street and shopping center. <br /> <br /> 9. A separation of grades is neither financially or physically practical, nor <br /> <br />desirable from a security standpoint. The ADA regulations, combined with the limited <br />width of the right-of-way and close proximity of VVinslow Street, make a separation of <br />grades impractical. <br /> <br /> 10.
