C/CAG is funding the design and initial capital cost for the project. <br /> Additional information about the Smart Corridors Project can be found at: <br /> http://www. ccaq. ca. qov/smart corridor. htm I <br /> On November 24, 2008, the City Council approved and authorized the City Manager to <br /> execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City/County Association of <br /> Governments (C/CAG) to acknowledge the Smart Corridors project, agree to work <br /> cooperatively, and to provide input during the development of the project. The MOU <br /> defined the vision, goals, general roles, and responsibilities associated with the <br /> development of the project. It also acknowledged that future agreements would be <br /> executed to address details related to the maintenance and operations. <br /> A Stakeholder Committee, made up of technical staff from the member agencies, is <br /> responsible for providing continued technical review of the design and <br /> recommendations. The San Mateo County Smart Corridors — South Segment Project <br /> proposes improvements in several jurisdictions within San Mateo County, including <br /> Redwood City. The proposed project elements within Redwood City, in general, <br /> include: 1) fiber-optic communication lines and equipment along Industrial Way, <br /> Whipple Avenue, Middlefield Road, Seaport Boulevard, and Jefferson Avenue, 2) <br /> electronic extinguishable directional signs at the intersection of Industrial Way/Whipple <br /> Avenue, Whipple Avenue/Veterans Boulevard, Woodside Road/Middlefield Road, <br /> Seaport Boulevard/US-101, Seaport Boulevard/East Bayshore Road, and Middlefield <br /> Road/Willow Road, and 3) closed circuit television cameras at the intersections of <br /> Whipple Avenue/Industrial Way, Whipple Avenue/Veterans Boulevard, and Seaport <br /> Boulevard/East Bayshore Road.
