• SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work for the hydraulic analysis consists of three tasks as described below.
Task 1- Establish Hydraulic Design Criteria for California Tank and Pump 3tation
Using the existing City distribution system hydraulic model, Consultant shall develop
hydraulic design parameters for the tank and pump station for the two possible tank
configurations. Hydraulic modeling scenarios will be derived from the existing system
scenarios that have been established for the hydraulic.
Consultant shall pertorm the following work:
• Meet with City to review project objectives, current operations of the
Glenwood and Edgewood PS service area, and confirm study criteria for tank
and pump station sizing.
• Perform static hydraulic analyses to determine recommended overflow and
minimum tank operating levels for normal operations and fire flows, and sizing
of pipeline to connect the tank to Lakeview Pressure Zone. Consultant shall
evaluate two alternate configurations using the static maximum demand day
scenario: tank supplied from the Lakeview PS, with tank operating at design
flow rate and tank supplied via altitude valve from the High Line. Consultant
shall report operating pressures in the Califomia Pressure Zone for both
scenarios. Budgeting assumes eight analysis runs. Using information from the
hydraulic analysis, Consultant shall confirm tank sizing.
• Review California Pressure Zone pressure results and distribution system
maps to determine if there are any areas that should be considered for re-
zoning, based on zone pressures.
. Develop a system curve for operation of the Califomia Pump Station using the
following hydraulic modeling conditions:
— Normal operations to Easter Cross Pressure Zone
— Maximum day plus fire flow to Easter Cross Pressure Zone
— Emergency Service to the High Line and Easter Bowl Pressure Zone
— Modeling scenario assumptions (e.g. tank levels, number of pumps
operating) will be reviewed with the City prior to the analysis.
Task 2- Perform Operational Modeling to Verify California Tank and Pump Station
Operation
The distribution system hydraulic model is currently set up for static simulation of the
system, but also includes a diurnal curve for the Hillside Area developed from a special
monitoring program conducted as part of the Water Distribution System Master Plan.
