' this task, the model will be set up and used for Extended Period Simulation (EPS)
analysis to verify the operation of the system in the Glenwood and Edgewood PS
service area.
Consultant shall perform the following work:
. Update the hydraulic model to pertorm EPS analysis for the Glenwood and
Edgewood PS service area. Model updates will consist of adding pump
control settings at Hillside pump stations, based on current operational set
points used by the City.
. Pertorm 24- to 48-hour EPS analysis for an existing maximum day demand
scenario to confirm operation of the California Tank when re-filled from the
Lakeview Pump Station. Consultant shall evaluate tank re-fill under normal
maximum day operating conditions (no fire flows) peak conditions and
establish the need for use of regulators from the High Line.
• Pertorm 24- to 48-hour EPS analysis for an existing maximum day demand
scenario to confirm operation of the California Tank when re-filled from the
High Line.
• Pertorm water age evaluations for baseline conditions (current operations
without the tank) and the two altemative configurations under average day
demand conditions to evaluate differences in Califomia, Easter Bowl and
Easter Cross tanks and service area water age. Consultant shall ensure that
model results are correlated to chloramine residual decay estimates that were
developed from field data in the Water System Master Plan.
e Based on modeling results, develop a preliminary recommendation for the
proposed tank configuration.
. Develop an operational description for the tank and identify operational
considerations for the tank and pump station and their integration into
operation of Hillside Area facilities.
Task 3— Prepare Technical Memorandum Documenting Results of the Analysis
An 8 to 12 page technical memorandum (TM) will be prepared documenting the results
of the hydraulic evaluation and providing an operational description for the tank and
pump station.
Consultant shall perform the following work:
• Prepare draft TM and submit one electronic copy to the City for City's review
and comment.
.
